Dellin is a Sunbeam

Today was Dellin's first day in Primary. He is an official Sunbeam, and he couldn't be happier about it. He was a tiny bit nervous when we dropped him off. He really loved being in nursery with Gouverneur, but he was really looking forward to primary. He is in there with Sterling Henry. Dellin is such a sweet boy, I'm sure he teaches will always adore him. Just like we do.

It's bittersweet watching my boys grow up!

Nascar

The boys love Nascar, just like their daddy. Sterling has been to a few races, but this was the first race for our two big boys, Sterling and Dellin. They went down with our friend Matt and Jack. To say they loved it would be an understatement.

Before the race started and the boys were going nuts just looking at all the cool cars.

They had really great seats close down to the track. The boys loved the noise and all the excitement going on around them. It about blew their minds with the race started.

If you don't pass our on the way home with your earplugs on, then you probably didn't have as much fun as Dellin did.
I love that Sterling loves to take the boys to do fun things. I hope these boys know just how good they've got it!

BYU FOOTBALL WITH UNCLE PARLEY

We were really excited when BYU announced that they'd be playing their season opener in Charlotteville, VA, just two hours from our house. Sterling decided right away that he'd go and take the boys. We all wanted to go, but knew it would be a long day with all the boys. So we decided to send the two older boys Sterling Henry, and Dellin, and leave the Gouverneur and Israel home with me. Sterling's older brother Parley decided to come out and join them. He stayed for the weekend. It was a lot of fun.
The boys left early in the morning to give them enough time. Gouverneur cried at the door for a good 20 minutes after they left, poor baby.
They stopped in the Shenandoah on the way down. Here's Parley with the boys.

Sterling and Parley are practically twins, so this picture makes me laugh.

All seated and ready for the game to start with uncle Parley. It was super hot, but the boys were pumped.

A HUGE storm blew in and there ended up being a 2-hour time delay. The boys waiting it out.

Even with the time delay, the boys had a great time. This was their first of many BYU football games.
Gouverneur was really sad not to go. It's a good thing we're moving to Utah and can hopefully get him to a game in Provo this season. I'd like to go myself. I haven't been to a game in years. Raising boys sure is fun!

THERE'S A NEW BIG BOY IN TOWN.

Dellin is officially potty trained and we are all happy about it. I tried to potty train him after his third birthday back in January, but he was not ready. Or maybe I wasn't ready, but either way, it didn't happen. Occasionally we'd ask him when he wanted to start wearing big boy underwear and he'd respond with, "maybe when I get baptized!" So I sort of pushed the whole thing out of my mind and figured we'd deal with it after summer.
Then on Monday morning, I looked at the week and we had NOTHING at all on the calender, except rain. So I asked Dellin if he wanted to put on big boy underwear and go potty and he said, "yes". He already had a stash of cute undies from back in January, so we pulled them out and started potty training.

He spent most of the week in his undies with a shirt on. He was rewarded with M&Ms and suckers for each time he successfully went. Sterling Henry and Gouverneur were rewarded too, so they were cheering him on just as much as I was. We didn't go outside too much since undies aren't exactly modest. But, wh did sneak out one morning with dad and I snapped this picture. Pretty cute.

We started filling up his Big Boy Chart on Tuesday morning and he did even better after that. He put on his last sticker last night, and we headed to Target this morning. He picked out a Jake and The Neverland spyglass set.

The whole week has gone much smoother than I'd anticipated. I love watching the confidence that comes with being potty trained. It's pretty darn cute.
My favorite line of the whole week was on Monday (Day 1) after he'd gone a few times. I told him that he was an official big boy now. He responded by saying, "now I can do all the thing that Sterling Henry can do, like summersaults...and..." I'm not sure what else came after that because I was laughing at how darling he is that he just wanted to be like his older brother and do summersaults. I love these boy so much! Way to go Dellin!

DELLIN'S 3RD BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

a wonderful birthday this year. We celebrated the day away and he loved every minute of it! I have been wanting to make a family birthday banner forever and finally got it done for Dellin's birthday. Here it is.

Dellin wanted blueberry pancakes and bacon for his birthday breakfast. He is such a cute, handsome little guy.

Dellin requested pepperoni pizza for is birthday dinner. We make pizza pretty often and Dellin always loves it. It's always fun to see what the kids want for their special day. Dad came home early from work to have dinner with us.

With my little Dellin boy. He wanted a donut cake. I tried to make it fun by adding lots sprinkles and chocolate frosting. He was thrilled with it.

The boys.

Dellin's main gift was the Fisher Price Batcave. He loved it! The boys love it too. It's fun to watch them all share each other's toys.
We sure love you, Dellin! Thanks for being so darling.
