NC WEEKEND

We took a little trip over the weekend to North Carolina and it was the PERFECT getaway. We were there for just 2 short days but they were so relaxing and fun. The day we were leaving I told Sterling Henry all about how we were going on a trip and we would get to swim in the pool. We got to the hotel late Thursday night and all he wanted to do was swim. Since it was 1am the pool was closed so we but him to bed and promised to go the next day. We FINALLY made it to the pool the next day and he was in heaven. I think he thinks that trip means pool and water... which is sort of true in my book as well.

All ready to finally go on our trip to the pool.
The pool was way too cold for my liking. We mostly hung out in the hot tub.
They had this wall separating the two and it made for the perfect seat. Not too cold and not too hot. Dellin looks so big-time here.

After swimming, we cleaned up and went to dinner. We tried a bunch of places before we finally settled on this one. The boys (and me) were starving at this point. Sterling Henry could not take it. He started eating the sour cream tubs on the table. We tried to stop him but he went nuts. So... He ate three.

Sterling Henry was a lot of help pushing the luggage caddy. He did a pretty good job right until we got to the elevator. The doors opened, a confused/slow couple got off, he ran on, and the doors shut. We couldn't find him for 15 minutes. I seriously almost lost it. There were 3 elevators, 15 floors and a million places that he could have been. He stood right by us for most of the day after that. My heart is still pounding.

We hit up some outlets and Sterling Henry sat in this truck for quite some time. All the outlets out here have a million of these things and they are a good source of entertainment, until we have to leave of course.

On the way home we stopped at the the Bass Pro Shops outside of Richmond. The boys loved every second of it.
They have a delicious restaraunt and we had the best seats in the house. My boys sat and looked at the huge fish tank right behind us for a whole hour. They didn't try to get out of their seats once. We will definitely be going back. Sorry for the lousy picture. It does not even begin to do it justice.

We love North Carolina and love living so close. Just over 4 hours away and so beautiful. The blossoms were out all over the trees and the "popcorn popping" song took on a whole new meaning. I also got to catch up with an old friend that I grew up with. I don't have any pictures with Kim but it was fun seeing her and her little girl. Perfect weekend.

Sounds like fun....except the elevator part. I am sure you are still freaking out about it. I would be!

I CANNOT believe that about the elevator. My stomach sinks if I can't see Haley for 10 seconds, I think I would pass out (and be of no help in finding anyone). Was he scared??

Looks fun! Where in North Carolina did you go?

The part about the three cups of sour cream made me laugh-cute and funny.

And the part about the elevator made me so nervous for you! How scary. I remember that happening with my younger brother once when he was little...in Israel!

What a fun trip!!

That has almost happened with Hema so many times on the elevator. Sometimes kids just get so excited and are too fast! Glad you found him quickly! On the positive side, he'll probably never ran onto an elevator again without you!!

What a fun trip - except for the elevator part. We had a rule at our apartment building that if Charlie ever got lost he would go straight to the lobby and wait there. And yes, we had the make the rule because he came SO close to getting stuck himself. I'm glad everyone is okay!!
