Sterling Henry turned 2 on Saturday and boy did we party! We started at 7am with presents. Why not when he wants to play with them all day anyway?!?
Here he is with the gifts and balloons.
More trains. We can never have enough right?!?
A couple of Sterling's buddies have this Matchbox transporter and he is obsessed with it so he got his own. He has played with it non-stopped!
We picked up Maria and Colby, then went to breakfast at the Crackel Barrel and headed out to Manassas Battlefield. Little Man loved the canons.
It's that time of year for apple picking. We went to the cutest orchard that was packed full of people and apples.
Little Man loved to pick apples with dad assisting of course!
It has been so nice but Saturday was HOT. Here with our with all our apples.
I love this picture of my Sterlings.
They had lots of pumpkins. Little Man had a hard time sitting there because there were horses over the fence that he was dying to see.
On Sunday night we had a HUGE birthday dinner for him. Colby and Maria came over to that too. We had all his favorites which include Mac and Cheese, green beans, squash, strawberries, grapes, and bread sticks. We ended the dinner with cookies and ice cream instead of cake. He loved the candles and blew them out. We lost our camera for 3 hours and have NO pictures of dinner or blowing out the candles. You are just going to have to take my word for it that it was awesome and he loved it.
Thanks Colby and Maria for joining us and for the sweet animals and sunglasses. Little Man loves them!
We spent Columbus Day at James Madison's house, Montpelier. It is about 2 hours from our house (with all the stops we made). We had a great day. Montpelier was a beautiful house but a little bare bones on the inside. They just opened it for visitors 4 years ago so they are still working on it. The grounds and surrounding area were amazing.
The backside of the house.
James and Dolley Madison statue. Sterling Henry was a bit freaked out by it. Our stroller is really scary looking in pictures.
Just some of their land... no biggie!
The front of the house. We had the BEST 3-day weekend. We all woke up this morning exhausted... even our newly turned 2-year-old!

Happy Birthday Sterling Henry! Where does the time go?! He's a little boy, no baby left in that kid. What a fun, cute boy he is, and I can tell he wants to be just like his dad!
what a lucky kid!
I can't believe he is already 2! He really looks so pleased in the pictures with his presents! I love it!
I can't believe he is 2 either! Both of your boys are so cute. I love that you guys are always doing such fun things. What lucky boys you have.
Fun birthday! Where did you go to pick apples? They look delicious!
That scary stroller picture made me laugh really hard for some reason. I'm not sure why.
