Since we have a tiny apartment I don't do a lot of projects, but when I do, you will know about it! This shelving area below was one of my favorite things about our place. It was so nice and bright and I loved it. There has always been one major issue with it, DUST! Every time I would go to use anything, it was covered in dust. Dusting everything was a complete mess. Toddlers loved it as you can imagine. Sterling Henry has started pulling himself up on it and then trying to pull everything off. I would want to do the same thing if I were a kid, I think!
I have been looking for something to replace it with, but I needed it the exact same height, with doors (to take care of the dust problem) and a drawer to put mail and bills in (as you can see they pile up on the top of it and it looks really cluttered).
I found this little gem at Ikea, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't sure of the color at first, but now I love it! It takes care of all my issues that I had with the other one. Sterling Henry has not even really touched it either. I know that won't always be the case, but for now it is perfect!

That looks great. When Sterling learns to open the cabinet just tie a pretty ribbon through the pulls on the cabinet doors.

Jess I can totally see your Mom in you. You are already collecting darling dishes even though you need to buy somehting extra to store them in. Needs those bowls for mac and cheese right.
